So I recently saw the new (“American verison”) movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. This was another book that I tried to get into, but couldn’t. I was amazed that people were so enraptured with this book and the subsequent series. The plot to me sounded boring, and I couldn’t get into it. But wow, after watching the movie, it was so shocking and much different than what I expected! I couldn’t believe all the sadism and graphic violence in the movie. I’m presuming there are probably many more details in the book that the movie couldn’t portray. Which led me to wonder–why weren’t people all worked up about the contents of this graphic novel? It makes Fifty Shades of Gray look innocent and loving! Why I haven’t heard anything about The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo being controversial? Why aren’t people upset about that book, or the movie? I find this very strange!
So please, if anyone has some ideas or thoughts on this, post your opinions up here! Also, if you’ve read the books and seen the movie, can you offer a comparitive look at them?
