Book Review of the Week (4-17-13)

Standard

I recently finished reading The Avalon Ladies Scrapbooking Society.  It wasn’t quite what I expected when I picked it up, but it was a cute, fuzzy read.  It was the kind of book that gives readers that “feel good” type of feeling.  It’s based a small town, where the residents all know each other–and care about each other.  The town’s elderly busy-body is an obsessed scrapbooker and tries to get everyone to partake in her hobby.  She’s quite successful with this and actually manages to get a huge group of people to come for her scrapbooking club (a feat I personally wish I could achieve!).  When she develops dementia, the town comes together to help her and makes her a wealth of scrapbooks to hold on to her memories.
