Yes, I’ve been a little behind on keeping up with this website. There haven’t been as many book reviews posted. The main reason for that is because I’m still working my way through The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. I’m about haflway through the last book in the series. Some of it is slow reading. The other reason is that I’ve been busy with other projects in my life. Within the next 2 weeks, I’m hoping to open a shop on Etsy to sell some of my jewelry and other craft projects, along with some other crafty family members. So when the shop is live I’ll make sure to post a link here.
I’ve also been working hard on trying to finish another book for all of you to read. Yes, there are many in the works, but the goal is to actually finish a second one! And finally, I’ve been getting ready for the first book event which is coming up this weekend! I’m very excited and I really hope to see many people there. The next book event will be sometime in October or November (the date hasn’t been set yet) in Philadelphia.
Thanks to all of my readers and for your support
I’m reading an excellent book this week, historical fiction, called The Divining by Barbara Wood. It takes place in 54 C.E. in several locales including Rome, Babylon, and Persia. Initially I thought the book was referring to the type of divining where a person uses rods to locate water. However, in this book divining refers to mysitcal powers such as having visions of the future, visits from the dead, etc. The book has everything that I love about historical fiction: a rich description of what it was like to live during a certain time period and details of far-off places I may never get to visit. I was enthralled by the end of the first page and don’t want to put it down. Highly recommended!
I am a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania. I have been writing since a very young age, and had some poetry published in an anthology when I was 14. The two main writers who have inspired and influenced me are Stephen King and e.e.cummings. My favorite authors are Alice Seabold, Patricia Cornwell, and Stephen King. Some of my favorite books (of course there are too many to list!) are Lovely Bones, The Dogs of Babel, Death Be Not Proud, I Know This Much Is True, The Interpretation of Murder, False Memory, the Harry Potter series, and Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic series. I’m also a big fan of anything related to Sherlock Holmes.
I enjoy an eclectic variety of music, from classical to heavy metal! A few of my favorite artists are Halestorm, Adele, Christina Perri, Cranberries, Sarah MacLachlan, Metallica, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and White Zombie.
I also have many hobbies–in addition to reading and writing, I love scrapbooking and playing the piano. I enjoy traveling and sometimes cooking. I spend time gardening although I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s something I enjoy!
Some of my life goals right now are learning how to knit and speak fluent Spanish
